The WLDC is a non-profit making organisation that champions linguistic research and facilitates the needs of linguistic communities. It is internationally democratic and diplomatic with a remit that is worldwide.

WLDC CEO Awarded Prince of Wales Innovation Scholarship

The University of Wales is delighted to announce that the first recipient of a Prince of Wales Innovation Scholarship (POWIS) award is Debbie Garside. Debbie began researching in November 2009 Working alongside academic experts from Wrexham’s Centre for Applied Internet Research (CAIR) at Glyndŵr University. As part of Debbie's PhD she hopes to etsablish an Open Source project in conjunction with the WLDC to document information on writing systems.
